Imagine and Act: NCG's 2024 Annual Conference
Land Acknowledgement
We are on Raymatush Ohlone Land
We acknowledge that we are on the unceded ancestral homeland known as Yelamu, homeland of the Raymatush Ohlone relatives who are the original inhabitants of Yelamu aka the Ohlone Bay. As the indigenous stewards of this land and in accordance with their traditions, the Ohlone peoples have never ceded, lost nor forgotten their responsibilities as the caretakers of this place, as well as for all peoples who reside in their traditional territory.
As guests, we recognize that we benefit from living and working on their traditional homeland. We wish to pay our respects by acknowledging the Ancestors and Relatives of the Ohlone communities, and by affirming their sovereign rights as First Peoples.
Each year, NCG commits 1 percent of all membership revenue towards the three land taxes within our geography, including Sogorea Te’ Land Trust, Wiyot Honor Tax, and Association of Ramaytush Ohlone-YUNakin Land Tax. We invite you to also pay your institutional land tax and are happy to be a resource as you take an important step towards being in right relationship with Indigenous communities.
