- Events. Sharpen your understanding of most pressing movement issues in the field including democracy, immigration, climate resilience, healing justice, disability justice, housing justice etc through our free 100+ programs and events for members.
- In addition to attending events, members can create programming and events in partnership with us that will educate the field, push leadership, and create lasting impact across the sector. The NCG team is here to support the event and bring your idea to life.
- Communities of Practice. NCG provides in-depth series and cohort learning throughout the year. All members receive a significant discount on these offerings.
- Foundations of Racial Equity series provides training for philanthropic practitioners to understand how anti-Black racism and white supremacy influence the field of philanthropy and our practices and to provide opportunities for action in your organizations based on what you learn.
- Through the Racial Equity Action Institute, participants gain knowledge, lessons, and tools for making change in their institutions on REDI and to create solutions for our shared challenges.
- New Grantmakers Institute: Grantmaking for the 21st Century, helps build your understanding of best practices for ethical and effective grantmaking and helps you place yourself within the philanthropic ecosystem.
- Rising Leaders Cohort offers a unique opportunity to focus on your leadership journey within philanthropy and build the skills that will take you to your next level.
- Communications Institute provides technical skills, transformational tools, and a values-aligned peer network to harness the collective power of communicators and narrative strategists within philanthropy.

- Annual Gatherings. NCG annually provides opportunities for the full membership to gather and learn together. All members receive a significant discount on these offerings.
- The Corporate Philanthropy Institute brings corporate peers together each year and addresses where the CSR field is heading, what bold steps companies are taking while tackling philanthropic business integration efforts and best practices.
- Every spring, NCG hosts its Annual Conference designed specifically for members, addressing the current issues impacting our communities on a local and national scale.
- The annual holiday partner brings together the NCG membership community with national and regional affinity groups. It is the largest gathering of philanthropic professionals in the region.
Collaborate

- Peer Networks. We offer issue and affinity-based peer networks so you can easily envision the region we want. EX: Bay Area Homelessness Funders Network, Funders for Climate Equity, the California Criminal Justice Funders Group, and more.

Mobilize & Learn
- Thought Leadership. We can’t envision and resource better futures without thought leadership and ideas. Together we can resource better futures with thought leadership for donors and trustees, an equitable recovery, and nonprofit sustainability. And together we can learn from our partners leading reimagining the sector and power redistribution with Trust-Based Philanthropy Project.
- Mobilize. Members can engage in action-oriented work around Democracy & Equitable Policy, Climate Resilience & Disaster Response, and our statewide alliance as Philanthropy California.
- Resources. Members can access member-only event recordings, resources, and learnings.
- Foundation Data. Members have free access Candid’s Foundation Maps: California tool, a robust interactive map showing more than 80,000 grants by over a hundred California foundations, with data on who’s giving and where to inform your work.
