Imagine and Act: NCG's 2024 Annual Conference

2024 Annual Conference Imagine & Act

About

We can only act on what we can imagine. As philanthropy is called to meet this moment, we need to expand our imagination. How can we envision philanthropy not as it is, but what it could be at its best? Within philanthropy, we need practices, tools, and ways of being that are in service to freedom and equity. As those mobilizing resources, we must stay steadfast in imagining and co-creating generative pathways to a more equitable future.

In alignment with this year’s Annual Conference theme of Imagine & Act, we will offer space to conspire, imagine, and act on ushering in new possibilities. Our lineup of speakers include Malkia Devich-Cyril, Senior Fellow at MediaJustice and writer and Maurice Mitchell, National Director of the Working Families Party, both of whom will push and expand our collective imagination of what is possible.

We’ll also continue our tradition of the “Great Debate,” where two teams of esteemed foundation leaders will challenge conventional assumptions about philanthropy's role in supporting a multi-racial democracy. This innovative format encourages critical dialogue and introspection, aligning with our theme of imagination and action.

We are also thrilled to feature the following visionary speakers:

  • Aimee Allison, Founder and President of She the People
  • Michael Tubbs, Former Mayor of Stockton and Founder of End Poverty in California

Together, we will dare to imagine, engage in critical dialogue, and collectively build our imagination muscle to transform philanthropy.

Registration is closed as of June 12, 2024.
