The Bay Area Health Funders Group, the California Pan-Ethnic Health Network, and the California HealthCare Foundation hosted an in-depth discussion of the progress we’ve made on health equity policy priorities in 2019, what’s on the horizon for 2020, and how to help communities prepare for the many changes taking place. They explored how philanthropy can respond, and what role it can play in supporting positive policy change.

California Budget & Policy Center 's infographic Children’s Health Programs in California: Recent Years’ Budget and Policy Changes is a brief companion piece to the Children's Health Programs in California: Promoting a Lifetime of Health and Well-Being and provides a timeline of major policy choices made in the past several years that have shaped our state’s health system for children. The Children’s Health Programs in California project was made possible by a grant from the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children’s Health .
In this workshop, participants gained an understanding of how the full costs of program delivery are calculated and the importance of funding full costs from a grantmaking perspective.

At this program, Shape Up SF Coalition and NCG's Bay Area Health Funders Group came together for a conversation with nonprofits and funders to strategize how San Francisco can be a leader in health equity and healthy eating active living programs by further supporting agencies who will likely be applying for funding through the Sugary Drinks Distributor Tax.
In this final finance workshop in the series, funders gained an understanding of how to engage in a dialogue with grantees to identify their capacity for fiscal strategy around complex issues.
