In partnership with AAPI for Civic Empowerment, OC Action and the Fresno Civic Engagement Table, AAF & Activate CA will host a two-part statewide briefing to provide funders with a roadmap heading into the 2024 election (and beyond) based on learnings and insights from Asian American and Pacific Islander community organizers that are at the forefront of mobilizing the AAPI electorate in California.
As 2023 comes to an end, we know that the stakes are high for our movement partners. With the ongoing reality of state violence, backlash from “tough-on-crime” political agendas, and reforms that would undo decades of organizing, California’s grassroots movements for liberation, justice, and safety are as crucial as ever. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Community Based Organizations (CBOs) have responded quickly and nimbly to ensure Black, Indigenous, and other people of color who have been most impacted have access to timely and accurate information in multiple languages, tests and vaccines, food, internet, and so much more. These organizations are essential partners, trusted by the people they serve, who have taken on public health work that often goes beyond their core missions and programming because their communities need it.
CCJFG’s Steering Committee recently engaged in a process to identify values and commitments to guide our work. We invite CCJFG members to review the following values, and the commitments they represent, and join us in embodying and striving towards these values from whatever current location and perspective you may hold.
State policy plays a powerful role in shaping the opportunities and challenges facing our communities, yet not everyone’s voice is heard at the ballot box. This webinar equips nonprofits and funders with the tools to change that. How can we help overcome barriers to civic engagement and mobilize every Californian to vote for a more vibrant future?
