NCG Shares Gratitude to Alice Y. Hom for Continued Leadership in the Field

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to Alice Y. Hom for serving as NCG’s Director of Equity and Social Justice for the past four years. Alice will be deepening their leadership with our co-conspirators at CHANGE Philanthropy as the new Executive Director beginning March 13th.

Alice shared that in their NCG tenure, they are most proud of developing and implementing Racial Equity Action Institute (REAI), a multi-sector cohort program for leaders interested in operationalizing racial equity in business, government, nonprofit and philanthropic sectors. Because of their visionary leadership, we created a network of 100+ leaders who are working to move racial equity from theory to practice in their specific sectors.

We are excited to build on the seeds Alice has planted at NCG through initiatives that have a clear intersectional racial equity lens on issues of disability justice, transgender and gender justice, and indigenous sovereignty. NCG President and CEO Dwayne S. Marsh observed, “Alice’s demonstrable commitment to racial equity has supported NCG’s evolution and had measurable impact on our members. Their passion for transforming the field is palpable.”

When asked what they learned in their time at NCG, Alice shared, “I am more aware that transformative change requires holding a long-term vision with rigorous short-term goals. When we hold this vision rooted in solidarity, collective care, and interdependence, the possibilities are so powerful.”

We are looking forward to the powerful possibilities that will emerge from Alice’s bold leadership in the field. You can read CHANGE Philanthropy's announcement here.
