Crispin Delgado Moves into Health Policy Leadership

With excitement and appreciation, we share the news that Crispin Delgado will join the Insure the Uninsured Project (ITUP) team as its new Executive Director effective March 20th to lead its work giving all Californians an equitable opportunity to live their healthiest lives.

As the Director of Public Policy, Crispin developed NCG’s public policy strategy during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Crispin shared that during his 3-year tenure, he is most proud of creating the Equitable Recovery Framework which supported philanthropy in addressing the underlying factors that led to the economic recession, COVID-related deaths, and racial divide in our country. He also developed thought leadership, programming, and election resources providing NCG’s member community with a roadmap to build an equitable future.

We are excited to build on Crispin’s ideas pushing philanthropy to prioritize democracy. “Crispin has laid the groundwork for new partnerships driving philanthropy’s role in strengthening democracy,” said NCG’s Vice President of Strategic Initiatives Steve Barton. “His passion for advocacy will continue to shape NCG’s work.”

When asked about his vision for philanthropy Crispin shared, “I think the philanthropic sector is at the cusp of making transformational changes. To move towards transformation, we must accept all funders have a role in fortifying our democracy.”

We look forward to building on that strategy with the announcement of a new Democracy Fellow joining the NCG later this month.
