Fund Development Specialist
TMC Community Capital (TMC CC) is a nonprofit microlender providing fast and affordable online financing, fostering financial stability, and encouraging entrepreneurship among women-owned, minority-owned low-income small businesses in California. TMC CC leverages innovative technology, inclusive underwriting methods, and deep community partnerships to provide fast, affordable financing to under-resourced small business owners.
You will be critical to the growth and success of the organization by supporting the fundraising efforts – enabling more entrepreneurs to be served. You will help the community engage in meaningful ways to support our mission.
Position Title: Fund Development Specialist Job Status: Regular Full-time, Hourly
Starting Date: Q1 2025 Compensation: $33.65 - $40.87 / hr
Reports to: Director of Impact Location: Remote CA
RESPONSIBILITES:
Donor Prospect Research:
Identifying and researching potential donors through online databases, networking, and other methods to build a qualified prospect list.
Donor Database Management:
Maintaining accurate information about donors in the organization's CRM system, tracking giving history, and updating donor records.
Fundraising Appeals and Communications:
Writing compelling fundraising appeals, thank-you letters, and other communication materials to engage donors.
Grant Writing:
Researching and applying for grants from foundations and government agencies by crafting compelling proposals.
Donor Cultivation:
Building relationships with potential and current donors through phone calls, emails, and in-person meetings to solicit donations and increase giving levels.
Reporting and Analysis:
Tracking fundraising progress, preparing reports to communicate impact, and analyzing data to identify trends and inform fundraising strategies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree from 4-year college or university
- At least two years of experience with grant writing, donor engagement, fundraising, and/or data & compliance
- Excellent communication skills, including writing, editing and grammar
- Excellent time management and project management skills
- Ability to multi-task, work independently, and problem solve
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Creativity and outside-the-box thinking
- Passion for community development, supporting local businesses, and economic justice
- Willing to travel occasionally for events
- Must be able to legally work in the US
