2025 Annual Conference: Becoming Our Vision

Imagine a Northern California where resources are redistributed back to those leading transformative change. In this vision, healing and justice are not merely aspirations but realities. This is a moment to embrace the responsibility and privilege of working within philanthropy. By listening deeply, acting boldly, and committing enduring resources, we can become the vision we seek for our shared future. What are you being called for in this moment? Let’s answer the call together.

2024 Annual (Not) Report

In 2024, NCG's community of over 4000 philanthropic leaders worked together to transform philanthropy. We gathered, mobilized, and inspired philanthropy to invest in equitable futures. We are facing times of upheaval and in such times, staying rooted in our values requires tenacity and clarity.

Where We've Been, Where We're Going

We started as the “Lunch Bunch” in the 1960s, a group of philanthropic leaders committed to growing together. Currently, we have more than 220 institutional members and over 4,000 individual members. For the past forty years, we have been working to gather, mobilize, and transform philanthropy.

Our Actions Must Be Greater Than Our Fears

NCG's Reflection on the 2024 Elections

In the days since the 2024 election, we’ve all been deluged with waves of reaction, analyses, and predictions of what will transpire with the seismic shift in political power to take place on January 20. The volume alone is overwhelming, but its detail is even more disturbing. Closer to home, we’ve seen rapid response, primarily in a series of powerful statements of commitment from many of our members, reassuring grantee partners that they will be there during the dangerous days that follow. This speaks to the conviction of much of the northern California philanthropic landscape in support of the region’s diverse communities. It does raise the question – now what?
