Rajni Dronamraju
Executive Director and Head of Commercial, Medical, and Government Affairs (CMG) Health Equity
Genentech
Rajni oversees efforts to embed a focus on equity and inclusion across Genentech’s value chain, with a focus on the commercialization process and beyond. Her team sets an integrated health equity strategy across Genentech’s US business (Commercial, Medical, and Government Affairs), embeds equity practices and core capabilities across key roles and functions, and fosters a culture of measurement and learning -- with the ultimate goal of ensuring that patients facing the greatest barriers benefit from the innovation of our industry.
Prior to this role, Rajni was Head of Giving and Social Impact at Genentech, where she led a team to drive Genentech’s philanthropic commitment to advancing health equity, diversifying the healthcare and scientific workforce, and supporting local communities near Genentech sites. During her tenure, she catalyzed $225M in equity-focused investments, including new competitive grant funds, multi-sector collaborations, and local signature programs. Before joining Genentech, Rajni advised Fortune 100 companies, private foundations, and research institutions to develop health equity strategies, strategic CSR programs, and new business models.
Rajni holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Studies from Northwestern University and a master’s degree in International Development Management from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Rajni is a Missouri native but has called the Bay Area home for more than ten years. She lives in Oakland with her husband and two daughters.
