Community Development Officer

Schedule: 40 hrs / week
Location: Inland Empire/San Diego – Occasional travel required

Position Summary:

The Community Development Officer will play a key role in driving growth by identifying opportunities, managing partnerships, and supporting small businesses in accessing capital. This position requires strong relationship-building skills, financial acumen, and a commitment to community development.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and engage potential business clients and community partners.
  • Conduct client interviews to assess business needs and program eligibility.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with business owners and referral partners.
  • Support loan application processes by collecting and reviewing required documents.
  • Collaborate with the underwriting team to ensure a seamless funding experience.
  • Comfortable in organizing and participating in outreach events to promote financial products.
  • Track and analyze business development activities and impact metrics.

Qualifications:

  • Very Strong communication skills across various platforms (in-person, phone, email).
  • Ability to manage multiple client relationships and projects simultaneously.
  • Experience working with small businesses, community development, or financial services.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems such as Salesforce (preferred).
  • Bilingual – Spanish (preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
