This meeting will focus on strategies and practices for funding healing justice and was designed in collaboration with Melanie Havelin, Executive Director of the John M. Lloyd Foundation. What would change about our funding practices if we operated from the reality that organizing and healing are interconnected? We will discuss how we support the health and sustainability of the organizations we fund, including the wellness of the individual organizers leading our movements. We will hear from funders in our network about their current practices of supporting the wholeness and sustainability of their grantees. This meeting is designed to generate ideas and strategies from our membership in response to these inquiries.
Participants will be asked to join one of three break-out discussions on the following themes:
- How to get started in funding healing justice?
- What are the practical ways to fund healing justice?
- What are the next steps for foundations already funding healing justice?
These meetings are designed to be a structured, yet informal space for California Criminal Justice funders to learn, collaborate, and get organized together!
This program is open to CCJFG members.
