California’s Reproductive Justice Future: Moving Money + Building Power

Part briefing, part rallying cry, this hour-long conversation in partnership with the Women's Foundation of California will examine what comes next in California as we continue to chart a path towards reproductive justice together.

Highlighting perspectives from across California’s reproductive justice movement, Marisol Franco, Director of Policy Programs at Women’s Foundation California and Nakia Woods with California Coalition for Reproductive Freedom, will moderate a dynamic conversation with leaders and activists of the reproductive justice movement, Onyemma Obiekea with Black Women for Wellness, Laura Jiménez with California Latinas for Reproductive Justice, and Jessica Pinckney with ACCESS Reproductive Justice.

California is where the future of abortion and reproductive justice is actively being built; we need to resource it accordingly. Decades of reproductive justice organizing led by Black, Latinx, and AAPI women and gender expansive folks* across California have nourished the network, the know-how, and the power to co-create our state’s future as an abortion sanctuary and reproductive freedom state.

As we navigate a post-Roe world, now is the time to mobilize money towards organizations, networks, and movements already doing the vital work to build true reproductive justice and bodily autonomy across the state and beyond. Right now, the Women's Foundation of California is pushing $160K additional rapid response grant dollars to its grant partners working on reproductive justice today and for the long haul.
