Annual Conference

About

At its core, Northern California Grantmakers’ Annual Conference gathers our community of advocates and dreamers for collective learning. The conference is a space filled with colleagues and friends all working to mobilize for marginalized communities, collaborate for more effective giving, and deepen their understanding of racial equity. It’s a powerful culmination of the year we’ve had, the progress we’ve been driving towards, and a preview of the transformative efforts ahead.

Grounded in a commitment to racial equity, our Annual Conference encourages us to envision philanthropy not as it is, but as what it could be at its best to support a more equitable future. Learning from and in collaboration with movement groups and philanthropic leaders, regional partners, and peers, we explore the most effective practices, tools, and ways of being, to keep our work accountable to the communities we serve.

We understand that no one aspect of philanthropic practice can be done alone. Shifting its practice means finding ways to move approaches in the field, not only individuals or individual organizations. The conference keeps this in mind with inspiring program design aimed at turning strategies into reality and making connections between the arts and social movements.

The conference like all other NCG gatherings respects a non-solicitation policy to support a collaborative learning environment. Learn more about our Community Guidelines below.
