To support philanthropy in the midterm elections, NCG committed to:
Happy New Year, California Criminal Justice Funders Group! We are looking forward to another year together building our community of funders who are dedicated to abolition, healing, and liberation. As a part of our growing commitment to the movement, we’re thrilled to introduce our new Movement Advisors: Amber-Rose Howard, Ashley Rojas, Gilbert Johnson, and Morning Star Gali. See their bios below!
The National Center for Family Philanthropy (NCFP) and Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors (RPA) are pleased to announce a multi-session Learning and Action Cohort for family philanthropies and individual donors who are significantly scaling up their philanthropy. Once a foundation or other form of philanthropy reaches a certain size, more robust practices and approaches are required in order to maximize impact. This program will support and guide families and professional staff as they adopt the necessary organizational changes to support an influx of assets with peer learning, hands-on workshops, consultation, and expert guidance from others who have successfully maneuvered similar transitions.

NCRP’s PowerMoves provides a compelling framework and toolkit for funders to build power, share power, and wield power for equity and justice. This session will explore the Sharing Power module in-depth, offering three living case studies of foundations that turned grantmaking decisions over to the community.
We can only act on what we can imagine. As philanthropy is called to meet this moment, we need to expand our imagination. How do we not imagine philanthropy as it is, but what it could be at its best? Within philanthropy we need practices, tools, and ways of being that are in service to resourcing freedom and equity. As those mobilizing resources, we must stay steadfast in imagining and co-creating generative pathways to a more equitable future. At NCG's 2024 Annual Conference, we will offer space to conspire, imagine, and act on ushering in new possibilities.
