Resources for April 6th COVID-19 Discussion on Funder Collaboration

Publication date:
April, 2020

The impact of the COVID-19 outbreak is far reaching, including major implications for non-profits and the communities that they serve. Philanthropy has an important role to play in supporting their non-profit partners during this challenging time in which there will be an increase in demand for their services.

Through-out the next month, NCG will host a funders coordination meeting (via Zoom) every Monday from 11:00 am - 12:00 noon. During these calls, participants will hear from other local funders on what they see their role is and share about specific needs they are hearing about in the community. This will be followed by a discussion for all participants about how they can coordinate their strategies and funding in response to the pandemic, whether it be through supporting the social safety net, building nonprofit resiliency, coordinating cross-sector collaboration, and grantmaking strategies.

This call will focused on homelessness. Participants heard broadly about the need for immediate housing and services for people experiencing homelessness, and discussed how philanthropy can respond in the short term, while also advancing long term goals of preventing and ending homelessness.

Speakers

  • Amanda Andere, Funders Together to End Homelessness
