Join leaders from youth development and fundraising as we engage public and private philanthropy to discuss what works and what's needed to forward the important work we do. Included in this event will be informal networking, brief presentation by Oakland Youth Ally Alliance, moderated funders panel with Q&A, and small group discussion. Come help us envision a sector that grows stronger through dialogue and collaboration between those who fund and those who enact our collective mission to empower Oakland youth.
Our panel discussion, and the subsequent break-out discussions, will be organized around the following topics areas (inspired by the 2014 report by The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation entitled “Landscape Analysis of Youth-serving Funding and Nonprofit Communities in the San Francisco Bay Area”):
- Funding vs need
- Shifts in funding priorities
- Funder/Community relations
- Fundraising capacity building
