With the generous support of the San Francisco Foundation, the California Criminal Justice Funders Group (CCJFG) has researched existing fellowship programs for formerly incarcerated people within the criminal justice field.
Too often, government programs and courts levy burdensome fines and fees on people, partly to generate revenue to balance public budgets. There is often an insidious and unintended impact of this practice– to entrap low-income people in long-term cycles of debt and entrench them in poverty.

On December 11th join the California Criminal Justice Funders, for a cross-county conversation to learn about innovative work in both Alameda and Los Angeles Counties to divest in prisons and policing, and invest in the communities.
