Fire Response and Recovery
We're continuing support to Sonoma, Napa and Mendocino as the community turns to rebuilding. We'll carry over what we've learned about the best use of philanthropy’s resources, where we can help influence key decisions, and how to address inequity for people with the greatest barriers and fewest resources for recovery.

Funder Activity
Arts Council Napa County
Donations are being accepted for Arts Council Napa County’s Disaster Recovery Fund to support the local creative community. Amount and number of grants will be commensurate with the level of donations the fund receives. More details will be announced in early November for accessing any available funds. Learn More >
California Bar Foundation
The CA Bar Foundation has set up a general disaster relief fund to support organizations providing legal services to those impacted by the California Wildfires. 100% of funds raised will go to legal aid groups in affected regions of California so that they can better serve clients at this time. Community Foundation Sonoma County
Community Foundation Sonoma County has established the Sonoma County Resilience Fund to address the mid- to long-term needs of their community. Learn More >
The Community Foundation of Mendocino County
The Community Foundation of Mendocino County has established the Disaster Fund for Mendocino County to provide disaster relief and recovery services in the aftermath of a natural disaster. Learn More >
Creative Sonoma
Creative Sonoma has established a local fund to accept donations specifically for individual members of the creative community – the musicians, artists, designers and more who contribute to the beauty and vitality of the community All contributions are 100% tax deductible and 100% of the funds received will be used for relief –basic human needs, art supplies, home and studio repair, etc. Amount and number of grants will be commensurate with the level of donations the fund receives. The First 5 Association and First 5 California
First 5s across California and their early childhood partners are stepping up to aid impacted families with babies and young children. 100% of the funds will be directed to effected counties for recovery services, including mental health supports for evacuated families, supplies for damaged family child care homes and preschools, additional family programs to support children affected by the fires, and temporary child care supports. Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees
Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees has established the UndocuFund for Fire Relief in Sonoma County to support undocumented immigrants who have lost their homes, belongings, and livelihoods in the fires. Learn More >
Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund
The Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund has established the North Bay Wildfire Emergency Fund to meet urgent and emergent needs of the community in Sonoma County. Learn More >
Latino Community Foundation
The Latino Community Foundation is raising funds to support three local latino nonprofit organizations: North Bay Organizing Project, in Santa Rosa; La Luz Center, in Sonoma; and UpValley Family Centers in Calistoga – that are working to support families, farmworker communities, and are coordinating regional resources for immediate and long-term needs. Napa Valley Community Foundation
Napa Valley Community Foundation (NVCF) has activated a Disaster Relief Fund for fire victims. NVCF will also distribute immediate response grants to a targeted list of local nonprofits that were pre-approved to receive such grants following the 2014 earthquake. Grants will focus on organizations providing services such as medical care, counseling, temporary shelter and meals to the individuals and families affected by the fire. Learn More >
Northern California Fire Fund
Napa, Sonoma and Mendocino counties’ community foundations have jointly mobilized the Northern California Fire Fund housed at Silicon Valley Community Foundation to respond to the devastating fires that have displaced thousands of residents and destroyed vast numbers of homes and businesses in their region. Redwood Credit Union
Redwood Credit Union has established the North Bay Fire Relief Fund. Donations which will support the immediate needs of fire victims in the four counties affected (Sonoma, Napa, Mendocino and Lake), first responders impacted by the fires, and kids and schools (public and private) in the four counties impacted by the fires. Rose Foundation
Rose Foundation, in partnership with Anther World is Possible coalition, has set up The Just and Resilient Future Fund to provide immediate assistance for the most vulnerable populations, and to initiatives that build more healthy, just and resilient communities. Learn More >
Tipping Point Community
Tipping Point Community has established the Tipping Point Emergency Relief Fund to support low-income communities affected by the devastating fires in the North Bay. Learn More >
United Way Joint Fund
This is a joint fund between the United Way of the Bay Area and United Way of the Wine Country. The goal of the United Ways' Northern California Wildfire Relief and Recovery Fund is to provide immediate and long-term recovery assistance to North Bay residents affected by the wildfires that have spread throughout the region. United Way of the Wine Country
In the short-term United Way of the Wine Country will be providing immediate assistance in the form of cash grants to residents who have lost their homes. Learn More >
