With more than 25 years of leadership experience and commitment to advancing social change, Vivian Chang joins the East Bay Community Foundation as its Vice President of Community Investment and Partnership. In this new leadership role at EBCF, Vivian will oversee implementation of EBCF’s programmatic strategy and will serve as a key liaison with public, private, philanthropic, and community leaders.

Vivian is nationally recognized for her work focused on the intersections of social justice, civic engagement, and organizational development. Since 2011, she has been a nonprofit and philanthropic consultant, partnering with community organizations to build the strategic focus, alignment and capacity needed to advance social change in the world. Prior to this role, Vivian served as the Director of State/Local Initiatives at Green For All, where she designed the initial strategy and architecture for Green For All’s local strategy. Vivian also served as executive director of the Asian Pacific Environmental Network; under her leadership, APEN organized thousands of Asian and Pacific Islander immigrant and refugee families to engage in issues around economic and environmental justice.

“EBCF is excited for a new chapter of growth,” said James Head, President & CEO of EBCF. “We are confident that Vivian’s deep roots in community, commitment, and experience in advancing social justice, and leadership in the broader East Bay will deepen our overall strategies in transforming the lives of families and communities in the East Bay.”
