Join us in congratulating The San Francisco Foundation's Judith Bell on her appointment as Vice President of Programs.
Judith comes from her position as President of PolicyLink where she has been since its founding in 2004. She worked to develop the organization into a nationally recognized leader on equity issues where she focused on policy development and campaign strategy at local, state and national levels.
Here's a snapshot of the foundation's announcement.
What is your favorite part of living in the Bay Area?
I love the diversity of who lives here and the incredibly beautiful surroundings. I love walking around urban communities tied to certain cultures and histories and I love to hike, run, and bike all over—from the East Bay hills to the Bay to the ocean.
What gets you most excited about the work?
I am most excited by the possibilities for advancing equity at this time. The emergence of vibrant new movements around Black Lives Matter, immigrants, and young men of color, and much more, is bringing powerful new voices and forces for equity.
The momentum is clearly continuing to build, so the possibilities for change are expanding, not contracting. The Foundation’s flexibility—to use many different tools and play multiple roles, plus its connection and commitment to community leaders—that’s a powerful mix.
We welcome Judith to the NCG community!
