NCG member O2 Initiatives has just released their call for applications for the O2 Sabbatical Award. The annual award program honors the commitment and accomplishments of exceptional nonprofit executive directors in San Francisco, Alameda, and Contra Costa Counties. This year, O2 Initiatives is thrilled to extend the opportunity to Contra Costa County for the first time.
O2 Initiatives is committed to supporting those who have tirelessly dedicated their lives to igniting positive change. Sabbaticals recharge high-performing executive directors and advance leadership capacity throughout their organizations. The result is stronger leaders, smarter teams, and more resilient organizations.
O2 Initiatives will grant up to six awards in its 2017-2018 selection cycle. Each award will include $40,000 to the awardee’s organization toward the cost of a three-month sabbatical, plus a $3,000 stipend for the interim leader (or leadership team) in recognition of the additional responsibilities they will assume in the executive director’s absence.
Each organization will be provided with up to 15 hours of coaching in partnership with CompassPoint Nonprofit Services to help prepare for the sabbatical, assist the interim leadership team during the executive director’s absence, and support executive re-entry and organizational learning once the sabbatical is completed. Awardees will also be invited to request up to $7,500 for further staff professional development activities.
In addition, awardees will join a distinguished peer network of O2 Sabbatical Award alumni who are collectively shaping the nonprofit sector.
Please help spread the word about the O2 Sabbatical Award with your grantees and networks.
Deadline for submission is August 30, 2017.
