NCG member, The May and Stanley Smith Charitable Trust (Trust) has released a book about its founders, No Substitute for Kindness: The Story of May and Stanley Smith.
With little documentation on hand about the Smiths, who are both deceased, the Trust engaged researchers in four countries to learn about their lives and experiences, which influenced the values and interests reflected in their philanthropic legacy. The book includes historic accounts of activities in East Asia during World War II, rare photographs, and reminiscences from colleagues and childhood friends. The public is invited to access the free ebook on the Trust’s website here. A hard cover version of the book is also available for sale on Amazon.com.
For more information about the book, produced by Personal History Productions LLC and published by the Trust in 2017, please visit the website here.
