Yesterday NCG member The California Wellness Foundation(TCWF) shared that Cristina M. Regalado has announced her departure as Vice President of Programs. Cristina’s last day at the Foundation is August 16, 2013. Fatima Angeles, TCWF Director of Evaluation and Organizational Learning and NCG Board Member, has been appointed Interim Vice President of Programs.
From the TCWF announcement on the staff changes:
“During Cristina’s tenure at TCWF, she has provided exemplary and inspired leadership,” said Cole Wilbur, interim president and CEO of The California Wellness Foundation. “On behalf of the Board and staff, I thank Cristina for her years of dedication to the Foundation’s mission and its grantees, and wish her the very best in her journey.”
Regalado joined the staff of TCWF in September 2000 as a senior program officer for the Special Projects Fund, bringing with her nearly 10 years of experience in the field of philanthropy. In 2002, she was appointed the Foundation’s vice president of programs. She led the successful roll out of TCWF’s Responsive Grantmaking Program and has overseen a combined grants portfolio of more than $500 million involving more than 2,000 nonprofit organizations.
Regalado feels a deep resonance with the Foundation’s mission, which she says intersects with her own personal convictions.
“I have viewed this work as restoring a sense of wholeness where once there was brokenness in communities with scarce health care resources; among residents who previously had no public voice; and with individuals striving to earn decent, living wages to provide for their families and the promise of opportunities for their children,” Regalado said.
She says one of the most satisfying aspects of her job has been the opportunity to attract, cultivate and work alongside the team that comprises the grants program department.
“I am truly grateful for the opportunity to have been part of something much bigger than myself,” Regalado said. “I leave TCWF inspired by the depth and the breadth of the impact that our work has made in people’s lives.”
NCG wishes Cristina well as she prepares to leave her position and we celebrate her many years of work at The California Wellness Foundation
