In March, NCG’s President and CEO Ellen LaPointe will embark on her next great adventure leading a Boston-based LGBTQIA+ health organization. NCG’s Board is gearing up to conduct a robust and inclusive search for her successor. Here’s an update on the transition.
Transition and Search Committees
NCG’s board has appointed transition and search teams to attend to the organization’s operations and attract a strong, diverse pool of candidates for the role.
The executive committee of the board will serve as the transition committee and the search will be led by a stellar committee comprised of board, community, and staff:
The search committee will retain an executive search firm in the coming weeks to support a welcoming and inclusive process to identify NCG’s next President and CEO. The committee is currently on track to launch a formal search by the end of March.
The board of directors has appointed internal leadership from NCG’s management team to serve as Acting Co-CEO's until Ellen’s successor is named. Vice President of Strategic Initiatives Steve Barton and Vice President of Member Engagement Phuong Quach will provide day-to-day direction to advance NCG’s partnerships, events, and operations across all parts of the organization.
What to Expect from NCG in the Coming Months
NCG’s programming, membership, staff and budget have grown steadily over the past five years. Our finances are strong, our team is talented and energized (not to mention fun!), and the NCG member community is a robust ecosystem of organizations and people working together to tackle tough challenges, and coming together to align, learn, grow, and celebrate.
Our collective attention to the people who make up this organization and member community and to the systems that enable us to do our best work has equipped the organization to continue smoothly on the path we have set for 2020. We have set forth three goals for the year:
- Promote equity and social justice in everything we do; support leadership, community engagement, and positive institutional culture in philanthropy; advance the health and resilience of our region.
- Use our voice and influence to represent the sector and infuse equity principles in everything we do.
- Bring our new strategic vision to life.
