Who wouldn’t want a dynamic mapping tool that shows you who’s funding what in our region? Imagine how such a tool would inform your grantmaking if you could see the funding gaps or identify collaborators based on grantmaking interests.
Does such a tool exist?
But the operative word is “yet.”
The Foundation Center and the Giving Forum are currently partnering with regional associations across the country to develop Foundation Maps a new mapping tool that will provide funders with up-to-date data on regional grantmaking.
Earlier this month NCG participated in the launch of the “Get on the Map” campaign to encourage funders to e-report their grant data which will then be used to population Foundation Maps.
You Gotta Give to Get
Foundation Maps will be released later this year and if you want to have access to this tool now is the time—you gotta get your data on the map.
By e-reporting your grant data your organization will receive its own personal map so you can see your grantmaking in action.
AND as a member of NCG you will receive a regional map that includes all the data reported for northern California.
ADDITIONALLY, because Northern California Grantmakers, San Diego Grantmakers, and Southern California Grantmakers are participating in a second partnership with the Foundation Center and the Giving Forum we are excited to share that NCG members will also have access to a California map.
