Get to Know the New NCG Board Officers

NCG’s Board of Directors is proud to announce its esteemed and diverse slate of 2015 Board Officers and Executive Committee comprised of a Silicon Valley family foundation leader, statewide and far North California private foundation representatives and a statewide corporate foundation program director.

Each NCG volunteer has invested their time and talent to ensuring NCG’s relevance and sustainability for all types of Bay Area philanthropists for the last several years. To learn more about your new leaders, read on and reach out and/or introduce yourself to them at upcoming NCG events as they want to hear how NCG can meet your foundation’s needs!

Meet Your NCG Board Officers

Name:  Diane Parnes, NCG Board Chair
Current Affiliation: Silicon Valley Social Venture Fund (SV2), Board Secretary
NCG Board Tenure: 5 years
NCG Committee work: Executive, Governance, Strategic Planning, Interim CEO Recruiter, Executive Search, Strategic Alliance, Operational Effective & Professional Development, Communications
Career path prior to current role: Nonprofit certified professional fundraiser, Executive Director of two regional Bay Area nonprofits, high-tech corporate grantmaker, CEO of Sobrato Family Foundation, social impact advisor to national nonprofits and family foundations.
Favorite things about NCG: Building community and amplifying collegial networks around common values and shared passions, accelerated learning through peer-to-peer sharing of knowledge and data, and collaborating around community initiatives.
What to expect from the NCG Board in 2015: Support of our new CEO, increased member engagement, strategic plan refinement and joint work with Southern California & San Diego Grantmakers’ Boards of Directors.
What I’m doing when I’m not in the office: Enjoying the sun and outdoor activities with my husband, singing in a women’s chorus & vocal jazz ensemble, listening to music, wine tasting and traveling.

 

Name & Board Title:  Jeffrey Malloy, NCG Vice Chair
Current Affiliation: The James Irvine Foundation, Director of Finance & Administration
Board Tenure: 3 years
NCG Committee work: Executive, Finance, CEO Search, Operational Effectiveness & Professional Development,
Career path prior to current role: Price Waterhouse audit manager, CFO and Vice President at a legal consulting firm; General Manager/COO at American Conservatory Theater
Favorite thing about NCG: Bringing really smart and accomplished people together to share ideas and best practices.
One thing to expect from the NCG Board in 2015: Full engagement with new CEO and the staff; a focus on governance.
What I’m doing when I’m not in the office: Commercial acting, international travel, exploring beaches, collecting tiki memorabilia and practicing my mixologist skills.

 

Name & Board Title: Diane Littlefield, NCG Treasurer
Affiliation: Sierra Health Foundation
Tenure on Board: 5 years
Committees you have served on during your tenure: Resource Development
Philanthropic career path to current role: Program Officer and then Vice President of Programs and Partnerships at the Sierra Health Foundation.
Favorite things about NCG: The mission of NCG, working with fellow board members, and being a resource to NCG members.
One thing to expect from the NCG Board in 2015: Commitment to advance the work of our philanthropic partners
What I’m doing when I’m not in the office: Walking along the American River Parkway.

Current Affiliation: Blue Shield of California Foundation, Program Director
Board Tenure: 3 years
NCG Committee work: Executive, Finance, CEO Search
Career path prior to current role: Program Officer, California Health Care Foundation and The California Endowment
Favorite things about NCG: The opportunity to network, learn and collaborate with philanthropic colleagues in the region.
One thing to expect from the NCG Board in 2015: Enthusiastic leadership that builds off the history of NCG, but moves the organization into a new future where NCG can play a leading role in Northern California philanthropic community. 
What I’m doing when I’m not in the office: Playing with my 8 year old son, my 11-year-old daughter and my husband.
