The publication features a list of 75 companies ranked by cash giving to Bay Area nonprofits. But the Business Times also celebrates companies that go beyond cash through our “Beyond the Check Awards."
The Business Times feature five companies in its publication and at its event whose giving extends beyond monetary donations. These companies are also focusing on engaging employees and customers in volunteerism and philanthropy.
To nominate a company, describe what new problem-solving strategies that organization has used to identify an innovative solution that will improve communities and create positive change in the Bay Area. Areas of focus can be education, the arts, sustainability, housing, economic development or any other area of philanthropy. You will need to provide specific examples of that strategy.
Anyone can nominate a company, including the company itself and a nonprofit partner.
To be eligible, a company must:
- Have more than 15 employees
- Have given time or money to Bay Area nonprofits in 2016
- Must be located in the Greater Bay Area.
- Winning companies can be long-time corporate philanthropists or new to giving back.
