The power of a membership organization like NCG lies in its network.
NCG relies on an engaged base of member volunteers in committees to drive programming and help staff to develop relevant content. These volunteer committees meet regularly and provide valuable networking and professional development opportunities for members.
New member volunteers are always welcome to join NCG committees. To learn more about NCG's Committees, contact NCG Member Services at 415.777.4111 ext.11 or at memberservices [at] ncg [dot] org.
How to Engage
NCG offers various ways for members to engage with peers and the sector:
- NCG has several peer networks within our membership that host informal brown-bag lunches and official NCG programs. Along with long-standing networks like the Family Philanthropy Exchange (FPE) and theCorporate Contributions Roundtable (CCR), NCG also convenes a book club and a Communications Salon for peer-to-peer conversation amongst communications professionals.
- NCG has a long history of bringing people together. Collaborative Philanthropy is about convening members, community leaders, and other key stakeholders around a set of common ideas and goals that help address complex social problems and advance our respective work through collective action. NCG is committed to supporting collaborative initiatives through long-term investments that create comprehensive solutions. Our current collaborative initiatives include the Arts Loan Fund, the Bay Area Health Funders Group, Legal Service Funders Network, the Environmental Education Funders Group and Queer Leaders in Philanthropy (QLP).
