Grantmaking Organization Memberships are organization-wide: your entire staff and board receive member privileges. Membership is for one calendar year. You may arrange to pay on a different fiscal year schedule. NCG is tax exempt under IRS section 501(c)(3). For purposes of completing form 990-PF, all dues in excess of $750 may be reported as a grant rather than as administrative expenses. Payment and documentation may be submitted following your application.
Grantmaking Organization Membership is open to organizations who give at least $25,000 annually to multiple, unrelated organizations within its funding priorities and do not restrict its giving to subsidiary chapters or a single institution. In addition, the grantmaking program must be the most significant part of the applicant’s activities. Grantmaking organizations include:
- Private independent foundations
- Private family foundations
- Public foundations
- Corporate foundations
- Corporations with community giving programs
- Operating foundations
- Giving circles
- Government Agencies
- Population-focused funds
Please note that solicitation is strictly prohibited at NCG events. All NCG members agree that they will not solicit funding for organizations and/or projects, solicit on behalf of a business or services, or pitch products at NCG events, nor will any guests they bring.
