Reports to: Capacity Building Initiative Officer 

Hours and Location: up to 40 hours/week; working remotely due to COVID-19 

Ideal Dates: November through January 2021 

Salary: $22.00/hour

About the Community Investment and Partnerships Team 

The Community Investment and Partnerships (CIP) Team leads the Foundation’s programmatic and grant-making efforts toward achieving A Just East Bay. Over the last three years, the CIP Team has developed and implemented a programmatic approach that prioritizes BIPOC-led and BIPOC-serving organizations and centers four core strategies: 1) community organizing, power building, and movement building; 2) capacity building with a racial equity lens; 3) fostering inclusive economic models; and 4) arts and culture for racial justice.  

Core Responsibilities:

  • Administrative and Logistical Support, include but not limited to: 
  • Manage BLO (Black Led Organizations) Network directories, databases, online resource database, and web content 

  • Perform general administrative tasks in support of the management and administration of the Initiative. 

  • Assist in executing plans for strengthening engagement with Black-led organizations and program partners. 

  • Prepares reports, memos, letters, and other documents, using word processing, spreadsheet, database, or presentation software, as needed 

  • Respond to requests for information about the initiative’s activities  

  • Attend meetings, record notes, and ensure necessary post-meeting follow-up 

  • Maintain, process, and manage expenses, invoices, etc.  

Required Skills and Competencies 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in non-profit or foundation setting 

  • 3 – 5 years of prior related experience 

  • Exceptional professionalism, discretion, and ability to maintain confidentiality 

  • Competency with Microsoft office programs, One Drive, Zoom, Slack, Google Docs, etc. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail 

  • Excellent computer skills, especially typing, accuracy in grammar and spelling 

  • Desire to be proactive and create a positive experience for others 

  • Strong relationship building skills with diverse stakeholders   

  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills  

  • Some knowledge of foundations and nonprofit agencies 

  • Ability to self-manage and work independently, but also collaboratively
