The Opportunity: The Program Coordinator is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and organized individual to be a part of UWBA Community Impact Department. The Team manages the delivery of integrated services through providing technical assistance, direct support and grant funding to SparkPoint Centers and other community partners.

This individual will support the operations of the team through excellent program coordination, systems administration, and liaising with other UWBA departments. We’re looking for someone who can help the team manage projects more efficiently, coordinate program events, pull together data for grant reports, and be the expert in Salesforce. The individual will also have the opportunity to support the broader Community Impact Team.

What you’ll do:
Program Coordination/Project Management

  • Support projects and events, including regional learning convenings, staff and partner trainings, celebrations, and retreats
  • Coordinate logistics for projects and events, including scheduling, securing venues, coordinating contracts and payments, and ensuring smooth and effective communication
  • Support the UWBA Community Ambassador program including identifying appropriate ambassadors for events and tracking payments, coordinate meetings with clients and partners
  • Compile and prepare documents for meetings and trainings
  • Communicate with funded program partners and team on specific projects
  • Support the delivery of integrated services in the Bay Area by working closely with the team and external partners
  • Develop project management tools for the team and help team stay on top of projects
  • Assist in executing the team’s on-going projects (i.e annual retreats, celebrations, and regional convenings).


  • Facilitation and management of training curriculum to enhance the learning experience in a diverse environment
  • Support the design, delivery and presentation of training material for program partners including virtual and in person training 
  • Prepare and distribute training materials such as participant & facilitator guides, handouts, evaluation forms and visual aids
  • Assist in identifying program training needs and provide recommendations for the development of the initiative
  • Maintain the technical resources for training materials
  • Develop tracking system for training participants to ensure accurate training records, track training needs, and collect evaluation results

Grant reporting

  • Assist with grant report and proposals, including writing or collecting the narratives and quantitative data
  • Coordinate grant writing projects for the team, working with the development team
  • Work with team members and partners to collect relevant information and review drafts
  • Run simple reports in Salesforce to pull numbers for grant reporting


  • Represent UWBA in external meetings, including attending coalition meetings, steering committee meetings, conferences, or other events
  • Provide support to the Community Impact Team, as needed
  • Work with partners and clients to coordinate trainings and convenings
  • Complete other projects or tasks as assigned

Who you are:

  • 1-3 years of related volunteer or professional experience, preferably in a non-profit, fundraising, marketing, financial capability or youth programs or education setting
  • Excellent writing and proofreading skills, with a high attention to detail
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Self- motivated and goal-oriented
  • Meets deadlines and completes tasks with a high degree of accuracy and dependability
  • Commitment to deepening expertise around racial equity, diversity, inclusion, and self-awareness
  • Ability and willingness to learn, adapt, and grow
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate and work effectively with nonprofit and community professionals and leaders as well as corporate executives in all settings
  • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain positive work relationships with staff, volunteers and persons contacted in the course of work
  • Can effectively cope with change, shift gears comfortably, and handle risk and uncertainty.
  • Team player, flexible and able to work with humor and grace under pressure.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint); database and CRM software (Salesforce); use of online resources and applications.
  • Access to a car, valid California Driver's License with car insurance and a clean driving record are conditions of initial and continued employment. Flexibility and mobility to travel to off-site locations within or outside San Francisco as needed.

Salary:  $57,000 - $63,000 (DOE)

Location: Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic employees have been working remotely. As restrictions are lifted and a return to office and community work is increasingly possible, staff and their supervisors will work together to determine the appropriate work arrangement based on the nature of the individual’s role, and in alignment with organizational policies and departmental needs and activities. We strive to be as flexible and fair as possible while ensuring in-person accessibility as needed to interface with our volunteers, membership, community, and each other.
