Job Description: 

The Cloudera Foundation seeks an accomplished Executive Assistant to support the President and CEO and to assist with foundation communications. The position is an excellent growth opportunity within a small, mission- and results-driven team.  

Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Support to CEO and President and foundation operations:

    • Perform administrative duties and functions requiring confidentiality, initiative and sound decision making

    • Manage calendar

    • Arrange travel plans, itineraries, and agendas; complete expense reports, and compile documents for travel-related meetings

    • Coordinate and plan for (high-level) meetings, and special events, including arrangement of logistics, meeting space, communications, and catering.

    • Serve as a liaison and communicate directly, and on behalf of the President with (senior) partners, staff, board members, and others.

    • Compose and prepare correspondence; edit and/or complete drafts for written communications, including presentations

    • Support the CEO in the administrative task of managing the foundation; tracking budgets; contracts; annual audit

  • Foundation communications and additional duties:

    • Support the foundation’s communications strategy and seek opportunities to promote the work of the foundation; compose regular social media posts about the foundation, its partners, and upcoming events; edit and/or complete drafts for written communications such as blog posts and internal communications such as company-wide updates

    • Support planning and execution of annual Global Day of Service

    • Additional support to Cloudera Foundation team as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred and at least five years experience as an EA, ideally in the non-profit/corporate philanthropy sectors

  • Enjoy working within a small, entrepreneurial environment

  • Passionate about using big data for social good

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive can do attitude and willingness to roll up sleeves and pitch in when necessary.

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills

  • Confirmed ability to appropriately prioritize tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to take self-initiative and be proactive

  • Extraordinary organizational and planning skills with attention to detail

  • Sense of diplomacy, discretion and professional integrity

  • Strong team player

  • Ability to recognize and appropriately handle highly sensitive and confidential material and information

  • Proficient PC skills to include Gmail and Google applications (Slides, Sheets, GoogleDocs)
