ABOUT DESTINATION: HOME
Destination: Home, a supporting organization of Silicon Valley Community Foundation, is a public-private partnership ending homelessness in Silicon Valley. Our work is grounded in a commitment to advancing racial and socioeconomic justice, and to centering the voices of those with lived experience. Through our collective impact model, we convene and collaborate with stakeholders across our community to address the root causes of homelessness - including historic and current racism - and drive true systemic change. We embrace a data-driven and human approach - advocating for policies, incubating new ideas and programs, and investing in strategies to connect more of our homeless neighbors to a stable home and prevent homelessness before it begins. Working together, we will build a community where homelessness is rare, brief, and non-recurring. Learn more at https://destinationhomesv.org.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
This is a full-time non-exempt level position in San Jose, California. We strongly encourage applicants from racial and ethnic groups that have been historically marginalized, as well as from people with lived homelessness experience.
The economic devastation of the COVID-19 pandemic has put even more households at risk for homelessness, with a disproportionate impact on households of color. The exacerbation of these economic and racial inequities underscores the importance of our work to prevent homelessness and secure safe and affordable housing for all our neighbors in Silicon Valley. As we rise to address the growing and evolving needs in our community, with a focus on racial equity and lived experience, we are growing our fund development team to support expanded outreach and stewardship efforts.
Reporting to the Development Officer, this position is responsible for helping to carry out Destination: Home’s annual fundraising strategy and plan for achieving fundraising goals. In this role, this position will collaborate with the Chief Operating Officer, Initiatives team, Policy & Communications team, and other internal and external partners, as needed, to identify and research funding prospects, coordinate fund development and donor stewardship activities and address daily tactical and reporting issues within the organization. The successful results of this work will lead to new private investments by continuing to strengthen the case for Destination: Home as a highly leveraged and effective partnership opportunity for those corporations, foundations, and individual donors seeking to end homelessness in Santa Clara County.
