ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a full-time exempt level position in Mountain View, California.

The Communications Manager requires a broad skillset in writing, editing, content strategy and project management.  The ideal candidate is an excellent writer and storyteller; can create informative, engaging and on-brand content; has the ability to communicate complex concepts concisely; has a talent for overcoming challenges collaboratively; has strong project management skills and is technologically savvy. 

We require two writing samples along with your resume and cover letter explaining your interest in the position and what you would bring to Silicon Valley Community Foundation.  Internal candidates should contact a member of the Human Resources department directly. 

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Communications Director, this position is an integral part of the marketing and communications team. The Communications Manager is responsible for creating and deploying a wide range of content for both internal and external communications related to Silicon Valley Community Foundation. This role supports the goals of the organization and the department by collaborating with SVCF colleagues, grantee organizations, community partners, donors, and other constituents to find and execute great stories about SVCF’s role in the community and the world of philanthropy. This person will use strong research, writing, editing, storytelling, and technical marketing skills to contribute to the department's goals and in alignment with SVCF’s vision and strategies.
