Several years ago, Equal Rights Advocates (ERA) convened the state’s most effective advocates and progressive political leaders to think big for women and families. We joined together for the very first time across different economic justice sectors to take a comprehensive approach to promoting the economic security of women and families in California. Our campaign is called Stronger California: Securing Economic Opportunities for all Women. We are mobilizing communities and leading a policy reform agenda across these four priority areas – poverty, child care, fair pay and job opportunities, and family-friendly workplaces.
With the help of individual and foundation supporters, the Campaign’s success has exceeded expectations and we are planning for future impact. Learn more about this innovative campaign helping millions, especially women of color and economically disadvantaged women and their families. California Sen. Hannah-Beth Jackson will brief us on the role that Stronger California is playing in securing bold reform, including passage of the strongest equal pay law in the country, expanded funding for child care, and repeal of the Maximum Family Grant rule depriving poor families income support for children.
