Join Ellen and the NCG team as we embark on a day of learning, policy, and community – with lots of laughter sprinkled in – at our state capitol. We invite you to be a part of our delegation as we educate lawmakers about the issues most important to philanthropy and the communities we serve.
Philanthropy in the State Capitol brings together our state’s elected officials with leaders of our sector through Philanthropy California, the alliance of Northern California Grantmakers, Southern California Grantmakers and San Diego Grantmakers. Members from across our three regional associations gather together to walk the halls of the state capitol, bringing attention to the most pressing issues affecting our communities, including the 2020 Census, education, health and immigration.
Please join us on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 for a full day of meetings with our state’s policymakers in which you can share your unique learning and perspective on the issues you fund, educate legislators and the administration about philanthropy’s role in civil society, and build your relationships with fellow policy-oriented funders as well as with policymakers. Our goal is to strengthen philanthropy’s voice on key issues such as the 2020 Census, and to encourage legislators to view philanthropy as thought partners. Together, we can work with government to scale up best practices that will improve the lives of millions of Californians.
We are also thrilled to invite you to Philanthropy Counts: Partnerships for a Successful Census, half-day, cross-sector briefing followed by a welcome reception for all participants on Tuesday, May 21, 2019. The briefing will focus on the 2020 Census and will provide an opportunity for interactive discussions with leading policy experts and ellected officials.
