This year brought about changes that before seemed unthinkable. And yet, in a matter of weeks, we shut everything down. And just a few months later, we took to the streets in the country’s largest uprising. In this historic moment, we know shift needs to happen. This is philanthropy’s moment to dream even bigger and move even more boldly. This is our moment to shake things up.
Join a conversation with, Bay Area-based philanthropist Kat Taylor and capital advisor Taj James who are working to shift power in philanthropy. Kat’s Good Life Pledge, sets out to return one-third of her wealth back to communities of color who generated it, and invites others to do the same. Taj questions, when it comes to financial and reputational capital, “who truly bears risk, and who benefits.” Hear how they are working with organizers, movement leaders, and each other to inform their approach and strategy.
Following the presentation, conference participants will gather to offer input on how we, as a regional network of funders, can coordinate our collective efforts to be our boldest.
