Northern California Grantmakers and Global Philanthropy Forum are co-presenting a special exclusive design-thinking workshop with EMBARQ. In attendance will be the most forward-thinking philanthropists, foundation leaders and corporate executives for hands-on sessions to help prioritize the challenges to tackle in urban mobility, and design ideas which will be later prototyped and tested in key markets, and eventually, scaled to cities around the world.
EMBARQ, the sustainable transport program of the World Resources Institute, is launching a collaborative design-thinking project to create an innovative approach to sustainable mobility for cities.
For twelve years, EMBARQ has helped 120 cities around the world address sustainable urban mobility needs. Despite these efforts, the pace of change demands greater effort to have impact. EMBARQ is seeking a way to accelerate their work in order to match the ever-increasing pace of urbanization and motorization which have consequences for people’s health, cities’ economies and the earth’s environment. This initiative will culminate in a set of bold ideas and collaborative projects that will help cities’ move to more sustainable urban mobility.
