How can your foundation engage in effective feedback and reflection processes to improve impact? In this intimate roundtable discussion, co-hosted by Northern California Grantmakers and the Bay Area Justice Funders Network (BAJFN) in space generously provided by The San Francisco Foundation, attendees will get a first look at an exciting new resource from the National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy (NCRP), led by Lisa Ranghelli, senior director for assessment and special projects, and advisory committee member, Jara Dean-Coffey, founder of the Luminare Group.
Drawing from its innovative Philamplify foundation assessment initiative, NCRP is developing a comprehensive toolkit to support funders that want to exemplify strategic, social justice grantmaking, transparency and openness, and strong feedback loops. Reflecting NCRP’s commitment to drive more resources to social change movements, and sectoral interest in responding more effectively to the dynamic political and policy environment nationally, the toolkit helps foundations assess the extent to which they build, share and wield power and privilege to advance equity and justice. The publication offers self-assessment questions, case studies, discussion guides, and more to support and provoke foundation leaders, staff, and consultants to engage in dialogue, learning and action.
Funders of all sizes and types are welcome to attend. Participants will learn about the toolkit, discuss how to build, share and wield power for greater impact, and provide expert feedback on what’s sure to be a popular sector resource before it is finalized.
