Nico is a seasoned executive, with twenty years of experience driving social and environmental impact in the nonprofit and private sector. She is an independent Advisor and Managing Partner with Platypus Advisors. She drives corporate
Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), Sustainability, and Social Impact strategies and programs. A key focus of her work is driving integration across impact disciplines and functions, and optimizing leadership skills and talent to advance an equitable approach to corporate impact. One of her core areas of expertise in her current client work is leveraging corporate assets and strategic partnerships to advance climate equity in underserved communities.
Nico has held executive roles leading ESG and Corporate Responsibility functions at Fortune 500 technology companies in Silicon Valley. At SAP, she drove the implementation of the company’s first Corporate Responsibility (CR) strategy and launched the company's signature social impact initiative, an accelerator for social impact entrepreneurs in Brazil, Kenya and India. At Intuit, she built the company’s first ESG program, drove Intuit’s climate commitment to become net positive, and launched the Prosperity Fund to accelerate jobs in underserved communities.
Nico started her career in human rights at grass roots organizations like Amnesty International, then working to help end modern slavery in global supply chains at international monitoring firms like Intertek and Business for Social responsibility (BSR). More recently she served as interim CEO at a social enterprise to end human trafficking.
Nicolette has a BA in Political Science from The Hague University, and an MA in International Relations from the University of Amsterdam. She was born in the Netherlands, and has lived in Europe, Asia, and in the US, where she now resides with her husband and two children.
