This summer, Northern California Grantmakers celebrated the 13th Annual "Kids Who Care" Awards Ceremony as part of the 2008 Summer Youth Project. The Kids Who Care program is NCG's way of recognizing Bay Area youth who work selflessly to make their communities and the world around them a better place. "Kids Who Care" are curious, compassionate, and unselfish community-builders. They show concern for their peers, family, neighborhood and school, and make a tangible contribution to their communities. Many of these youth have also overcome considerable personal hardship, and now build on those experiences to help improve the lives of others.
