Announcement to the field
LEARN MORE >>
NCG launched the Effectiveness and Accountability Initiative in 2006 to represent our philanthropic community and embody our mission to provide inspiration, community, and leadership. The San Francisco Bay Area’s philanthropic community has always been innovative and at the forefront of the field. Our membership represents funders at the vanguard of leading and challenging the philanthropic sector to be more effective, reflective, and responsive. The Effectiveness and Accountability Initiative represents our members’ energy and the next step in our region’s philanthropic evolution. Participation as a member of NCG demonstrates a commitment to these values.
The cornerstone of the Effectiveness and Accountability Initiative are the Effectiveness and Accountability Principles. The eight principles were adopted by the NCG Board of Directors on November 30, 2006.
NCG is itself committed to practicing the good governance and effectiveness tenets of the Principles. It is also committed to assisting its membership in implementing the Principles as part of its tradition of providing professional and organizational development services.
This website will be updated regularly with information on how members can and are putting the Principles into action. The website also has frequently asked questions and resources for learning.
Effectiveness and Accountability Principles, which we believe represent Northern California philanthropy, can serve as a guideline for our entire diverse membership.
