Resources About Philanthropy + NonProfits
The term philanthropy comes from the classical Greek, meaning "love for mankind". Today this term is also used to describe the activities of thousands of individuals and corporations who have dedicated some of their private funds and resources to serving the public good to help -- sustain crucial human services, protect the environment, enrich our cultural lives, improve and expand educational opportunities and develop new strategies for solving critical problems. These foundations and other giving programs provide much needed grants to support the activities of hundreds of thousands of nonprofit organizations worldwide working to improve the quality of life.
